Mayday, Mayday – Beach Weather on its Way

After two long soggy months flirting with rainfall records Vancouver spring weather is starting to break through, if only in sunny spurts. Rain or shine, activity at the Jericho Sailing Centre heats up in the month of May as club and school programs launch in earnest and our weekly race programs commence. A reminder to members who are using their craft for the first time this season to take extra time and do a careful pre-launch check – equipment failures are more likely to occur after your craft has been sitting idle for several months. If you are new to the Jericho Sailing Centre, welcome aboard and please plan to join us for an English Bay Safety Seminar, a free 2 hour program designed to make you aware of the dangers present on Vancouver’s largest playground and help you avoid some of the “sea disaster” situations that others have encountered as detailed in the Jericho Rescue Team logs. On behalf of the JSCA we’d like to wish all users of the Jericho Sailing Centre a safe and enjoyable beach weather season.
