Jericho Rescue Team Donates Bike to Lifeguards

Members of the Jericho Rescue Team donated a bicycle to the Locarno Beach Lifeguard station on Sunday following their combined safety coverage of the Subaru Vancouver International Triathlon.

In the event of an emergency at one beach, lifeguards from other stations can provide essential back-up. The difference between “bicycle speed” and “foot speed” could be a matter of minutes and in a life and death situation might make all of the difference in the world.
