REGIONAL NATIONAL JUDGES SEMINAR
Nov. 7, 8 AND 9 2014 – West Vancouver Yacht Club

AIMS OF THE SEMINAR

  • Provide the seminar and the opportunity to pass the test to meet some of the requirements for becoming certified as either a Regional or National judge – the seminar and the test are the same.
  • Help develop the practical skills and develop the experience of existing and prospective RJs and NJs in the application of the RRS and related procedures.
  • Candidates are expected to know the rules sand the material presented in the Club Judge Seminar. This seminar will help participants take that knowledge and work thru writing a good decision. This seminar will not be teaching the rules.
  • Provide experience for candidates who wish to gain RJ/NJ status and to be able to:
  • Competently serve on protest committees at national championships
  • Chair protest and redress hearings at local and regional level championships

SCHEDULE

  • Friday Nov. 7 1800 – 2100 hrs
  • Saturday Nov. 8 0830 – 1700 hrs
  • Sunday Nov. 9 0830 – 1500 hrs

SEMINAR ARRANGEMENTS

  • Note – this announcement is an update to that distributed on Sept. 23, 2014.
  • The seminar is being hosted by West Vancouver Yacht Club in the upper floor of their Sailing Centre.
  • Coffee and Tea will be provided at breaks. Lunch will be served both Saturday and Sunday and are included in your registration fee.
  • The Registration Fee is $120 and is payable by credit card to BC Sailing (see below) when you register. If you have already registered call Nancy to take care of the payment. There will not be facilities to take payment at the seminar.
  • Within a few days of this Announcement or your registration you will receive three preseminar assignments by email. Before Nov. 1 the assignments should be emailed to Robert Stewart at MerrileesAlberta@bellnet.ca as each one is completed In order that they can be reviewed and worked into the seminar program.
