Jericho Beach Air Station Slide Show Presentation – October 16

Felixtowe flying boat launches from Jericho in 1920

Long before the Jericho Sailing Centre facilitated launching Lasers, windsurfers, kayaks and SUPs, our site was used to launch Blackburn Sharks, Supermarine Stranraers and various other flying boats and seaplanes. Our building was built in 1940 as the RCAF Jericho Beach Air Station Marine and Stores Building. The pre-RCAF Jericho Beach Air Station was established in the infancy of Canadian aviation in 1920, almost 10 years before the Vancouver Airport opened. Come find out more about the history of the Jericho Beach Air Station at a slide show presentation with JSCA GM Mike Cotter on Tuesday, October 16 at 1900H. The presentation is free but please RSVP so we can save you a chair.
