The Jericho Sailing Centre Association has student employment grant positions available and is inviting qualified candidates to apply. We are looking for a Secretary/Receptionist as well as Maintenance/Safety persons who are enrolled full time in a post secondary school this term and are planning to return full time for the fall session. To qualify for the grant, applicants must be Canadian Citizens under 30 years of age. We are looking for personable candidates who have a general knowledge of the types of ocean activities supported by the Jericho Sailing Centre. SAILING INSTRUCTORS
The Disabled Sailing Association of B.C. is recruiting sailing instructors for the 2019 summer season. Based at Jericho Sailing Centre, our program offers recreational and competitive sailing opportunities for adults and children with physical disabilities. This position involves accompanying a sailor with physical disability for an hour at a time with instruction as required using the Martin 16 sailboat.

Must have advanced sailing skills, emergency first aid and CPR, and a Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card. CanSail Instructor course 1 and 2 certification an asset. Strong communication skills required and the ability to work in a team environment. Start date May 15. End date August 31. Must be available to work weekends and for the entire summer. 40-hour work week (10 am to 6 pm). Competitive wages. Experience working with volunteers helpful.
This position is dependent on the employer receiving funding from Canada Summer Jobs wage subsidy program. Grant restrictions require applicants to be between 15 and 30 years of age. He/she must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration & Refugee Protection Act.
