Saturday: Jericho Welcomes Maiden to Vancouver – Jump in Your Craft & Join in!

The 58′ round the world racing yacht Maiden arrives in Vancouver this Saturday, July 27. While not currently engaged in a race, she is completing the Honolulu to Vancouver leg of a round the world campaign to raise awareness for women in sailing, women’s education and women’s empowerment. Her all female crew includes Jericho Rescue Team member, Theresa Riedl. While the time is conditional on the winds between Victoria and Vancouver, we anticipate Maiden will round Point Grey sometime between 0930H and 1130H* Saturday. We hope to have a flotilla of sailing dinghies, kayaks, canoes, windsurfers, SUP’s, rowboats, etc on the water welcoming Maiden and her crew. The Jericho Rescue boats and Albatross will meet her near the Point Grey Bell Bouy. We expect her route to bring her close to the Jericho Pier before she heads through the First Narrows to her berth at the Coal Harbour Marina. Please come out to help us welcome Maiden to Vancouver.

* We are in contact with Maiden’s shore support crew and will update her expected arrival time on the Jericho Sailing Centre’s Facebook page.
