Juno Beach Centre Fundraiser
The father of long time JSCA member, Vancouver lifeguard, Jericho Rescue Team and Jericho Paddling Club member Mike Parks is raising money to help support the Juno Beach Centre. As a 19 year old, Mike’s father Jim landed at Juno Beach on June 6th 1944 with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. At the tender age of 96, Jim is walking 1500m in memory of the over 5,000 Canadians who laid down their lives in Normandy. Funds raised will help cover Juno Beach Centre revenue shortfalls due to COVID-19 related closures.
