This weekend @ Jericho Sailing Centre

Vancouver T100 Triathlon @ Locarno Beach, June 14 & 15, 2025

This week we are hosting the Vancouver T100 Triathlon in our area and facility. This is an international triathlon event for professional and amateur athletes. Over 2,000 athletes will be in and around Jericho Sailing Centre training throughout the week and then competing on the weekend. The event will be broadcast globally showcasing the area, Spanish Banks and the UBC campus.  

Organizers will begin their set up in the area on Monday, June 9th and you will see some impacts to building, area access and parking. 

Wednesday June 9 to Tuesday June 17

  • The two EasyPark parking lots north and south of the public works yard will be closed.
  • The main Jericho Sailing Centre parking lot will have some tents being erected and construction taking place but access and parking is still available.
  • Organizers will be occupying meeting rooms within Jericho Sailing Centre.

Friday June 13

  • The main Jericho Sailing Centre parking lot will be closed from 0400-1700 each day, however, dedicated and free parking has been reserved for Jericho Sailing Centre users east (in front) of the Jericho Hostel and south of the Park Board Maintenance yard.

Saturday, June 14 and Sunday June 15

  • The main Jericho Sailing Centre parking lot will be closed from 0400-1700 each day, however, dedicated and free parking has been reserved in the East Jericho Beach Parking Lot for Sailing Centre members and visitors. Golf carts shuttles will be available to bring you to Jericho Sailing Centre and back throughout the day. 
  • NW Marine Drive west of Discovery Street and Belmont Ave from NW Marine Drive to Discovery Street will be closed Saturday 0500-1700 and Sunday 0400-1300 for the races.

Expect to see many athletes swimming in the Locarno Beach area in the vicinity of the Jericho Pier on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Keep a sharp lookout for swimmers in the water as well as Jericho Rescue and Vancouver Lifeguard Association boats directing marine traffic away from the competition area.

Jericho Sailing Centre itself will remain open to members and users during the event. Many of the rooms are being rented by the event organizers but the Members lounge and The Galley Patio & Grill will remain open.
