DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in learning how to race? Do you want to perfect your strategy and tactics on the water? Do you want to race\, but it’s too cold out there. \nThe UBC Sailing Club has the pleasure to introduce the Wegatta Regatta workshop and virtual race series! We meet in the Jericho Member’s Lounge every Tuesday night (1800H)\, go over sailing rules and strategy and then apply them during Virtual Regatta races. This virtual championship will run until the end of March. \nThis event is free and open to every Jericho member—no need to have any experience racing (or even sailing). The game can be played on a laptop or a phone—please create a Virtual Regatta Inshore account (https://www.virtualregatta.com/inshore-game/) before you join\, and go through the tutorial. If you are planning to play on your phone\, you’ll need to download the app. Our first session will be on Tuesday\, Jan \n13th\, and there will be some cookies! Courses vary depending on conditions\, each race night has a short and a long course. Check-in starts at 6 pm\, race starts at 7 pm. \nNo Registration on Site\nPre-register only at Webscorer.com. Each week the link to the race registration will be posted on the WaveChaser Facebook page as of midnight (12:01 AM) on Friday. \nRacers Must Check-in On-site Before the Race\nCheck-in will be set up outside the JSCA compound on the beach between the ramps #2 and #3. When you arrive\, you need to check-in\, give the race directors your boat/bib number and review the race course. The course map is on a whiteboard hanging on the fence by Gate #3. It is critical for the safety crew to know how many racers are on the water. If you pre-register but don’t check-in\, you will not be counted. \nRace Fees\nRace entry is $5 for Jericho Sailing Centre members and $10 for non-members. You can buy a series pass for the summer and save a few $$! There are 18 races\, so the series pass will give you 4 free races plus you only pay the processing fee ($1.40) once\, instead of every time you register.

It is critical for the safety crew to know how many racers are on the water. If you pre-register but don’t check-in\, you will not be counted. \nRace Fees\nRace entry is $5 for Jericho Sailing Centre members and $10 for non-members. You can buy a series pass for the summer and save a few $$! There are 18 races\, so the series pass will give you 4 free races plus you only pay the processing fee ($1.40) once\, instead of every time you register.

DESCRIPTION:Informal racing series for Jericho style sail powered craft in English Bay. First signal at 1815H. Free of charge to members. Guests pay the JSCA day launch fee of $10/day. \nRegistration and scoring are available at jracing.org. Only registered boats will be scored. Competitors are encouraged to register.
