DESCRIPTION:At this meeting\, we review our previous year’s events and preview our coming year’s events\, setting the dates for next year’s event schedule. We will also be looking at alternate scoring systems for our Penguin Cup\, Tuesday and Sunday sail racing series. We encourage representatives from all of our racing fleets and groups both paddle and sail to attend. \nA working group has been examining alternate scoring systems for our sailing series since January. Richard Spencer has modeled a few scoring system options at jracing.org and will be introducing the different models at the meeting. Please take the time to visit jracing.org to see how these work for yourself. This potential change will have a significant impact on how racing is scored and how we determine series winners going forward. \nThis meeting will be held virtually on Zoom. Or want to give kayaking a try and enjoy the calm waters we get in the winter? \nJoin us every Saturday for a group paddle right from Jericho Beach. \nEnglish Bay is beautiful in the winter\, even on rainy days\, as it is beautifully calm and serene. On top of that\, there are few other boats sometimes great views of our beautiful snow-capped mountains and crystal clear water. \nPlease make sure you are dressed for the weather and the water. \nEverybody (beginners and experienced paddlers alike) is welcome with rental kayaks available! JSCA members with their own boats are also welcome to join the programme and enjoy the safety of the group and the guide.
