DESCRIPTION:Women on Water is a wonderful event on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer where women* who are 16+ of all paddling abilities come together for a relaxed\, semi-guided paddle. This is a great opportunity to connect with other paddlers\, socialize\, make new friends and just go for a paddle together. \n*”Women on Water” is inclusive and welcomes (but is not limited to): cis-gender women\, nonbinary folks\, transgender women\, 2-spirited folks\, those who are exploring or do not conform to gender identity\, and those who feel safe and included in our space \nRegistration opens each Wednesday morning at 10am for the following week. \nBook Here \nRates\nDefault Rate: $45\, but sliding scale pricing is available. \nYou must be registered in order to join the group. Unfortunately\, if WOW is full\, you cannot rent a kayak from JBK or bring your own boat and just join the group on the water. (This is for everyone’s safety. It allows us to maintain the industry standard ratio of one guide for every six guests\, and helps the guides to ensure they bring back the same number of guests as they took out!)

Only registered competitors will be scored therefore competitors are encouraged to register. Registration and scoring are available at jracing.org. \nFor those sailors using club boats and are unsure of their sail number before racing begins\, registration can happen both before and after the event. \nNotice of Race here \nSailing Instructions here \nStarting practice\nWe will be running starting practices on four Sundays this season. On May 10\, June 14\, July 5 and August 2. Albatross will be in position at noon (1200H) and will run practice start sequences using a unique “practice” class flag continuously from noon. \nFirst signal on May 3 and June 28 will be at 1300H due to marathon style running events that will limit access to the facility in the morning. \n

DESCRIPTION:We are proud to provide a safe and accessible space for BIPOC folks to come paddling. \nJoin JBK and other BIPOC-identifying folks for a relaxed 2h paddle from Jericho Beach and enjoy the sunset from the water. \nThere is no previous kayaking experience required. Our guides will make sure everybody is comfortable in their kayaks and on the water. We are looking forward to having a fun time as a community. \nWho: Anybody who identifies as BIPOC \nRates\nDefault Rate: $50\, but sliding scale pricing is available. \nBook Here \nSliding Scale Pricing: \nThe idea behind sliding scale pricing is that there are multiple price points available to participate in this activity. This is to make the program more accessible and to help reduce financial barriers for people with different levels of income. \nIf you have the financial means please pay our ‘default’ pricing. If you do not have the means you can choose to pay a lower price ($30 or $40). If you have extra means available please consider selecting the “generous” option ($60) so we can continue to offer the heavily subsidized options for those who need it.
