Most paddlers have some experience but newcomers are very welcome. \nThis is a paid event put on by Jericho Beach Kayak Centre and is open to the public. The Social Paddle fills up quickly so we recommend registering right when it opens. You must be registered for the Social Paddle in order to join the group. Renters cannot join the group on the water. \nDiscounted kayak rental rates are in effect for these events. SUMMARY:Jericho Wavechaser Paddle Race Series
DESCRIPTION:The series will run every Thursday from May 2nd to August 29th off the beaches at the Jericho Sailing Centre. The races are open to all level of paddlers in outrigger\, SUP\, surfski\, prone\, sea kayak\, canoe\, rowing shell. Courses vary depending on conditions\, each race night has a short and a long course. Check-in starts at 6 pm\, race starts at 7 pm. \nNo Registration on Site\nPre-register only at Webscorer.com. Each week the link to the race registration will be posted on the WaveChaser Facebook page as of midnight (12:01 AM) on Friday. \nRacers Must Check-in On-site Before the Race\nCheck-in will be set up outside the JSCA compound on the beach between the ramps #2 and #3. When you arrive\, you need to check-in\, give the race directors your boat/bib number and review the race course. The course map is on a whiteboard hanging on the fence by Gate #3. It is critical for the safety crew to know how many racers are on the water. If you pre-register but don’t check-in\, you will not be counted. \nRace Fees\nRace entry is $5 for Jericho Sailing Centre members and $10 for non-members. You can buy a series pass for the summer and save a few $$! There are 18 races\, so the series pass will give you 4 free races plus you only pay the processing fee ($1.40) once\, instead of every time you register.

This is a great opportunity to connect with other paddlers\, socialize\, make new friends and just go for a paddle together. \nSliding scale pricing is available for this programme. \nDouble Kayak discount and BYO Kayak \nWith the introduction of our sliding scale pricing\, we have discontinued the discount for using a double kayak. \nHowever\, if you would like to paddle a double kayak with your paddling partner you are very welcome to select the “accessible” price option for each of you. \nIf you would like to participate with your own kayak you are also welcome to choose the “accessible” price option. DESCRIPTION:The English Bay Safety Seminar was developed for users of the Jericho Sailing Centre to help keep them safe at play while on the waters of English Bay. The seminar covers basic water safety fundamentals along with user specific information drawn from the logs of the Jericho Rescue Team who have intervened in thousands of “sea disasters” over the past 45+ years. \nWhy make your own mistakes when you can learn from the mistakes of others? Don’t challenge Darwin’s theory\, make sure your water safety knowledge is the fittest it can be. Your survival may well depend upon it. Find the missing links and fill in the gaps in your water safety knowledge by attending a FREE English Bay Safety Seminar. DESCRIPTION:The series will run every Thursday from May 2nd to August 29th off the beaches at the Jericho Sailing Centre. The races are open to all level of paddlers in outrigger\, SUP\, surfski\, prone\, sea kayak\, canoe\, rowing shell. Courses vary depending on conditions\, each race night has a short and a long course. Check-in starts at 6 pm\, race starts at 7 pm. \nNo Registration on Site\nPre-register only at Webscorer.com. Each week the link to the race registration will be posted on the WaveChaser Facebook page as of midnight (12:01 AM) on Friday. \nRacers Must Check-in On-site Before the Race\nCheck-in will be set up outside the JSCA compound on the beach between the ramps #2 and #3. When you arrive\, you need to check-in\, give the race directors your boat/bib number and review the race course. The course map is on a whiteboard hanging on the fence by Gate #3. It is critical for the safety crew to know how many racers are on the water. If you pre-register but don’t check-in\, you will not be counted. \nRace Fees\nRace entry is $5 for Jericho Sailing Centre members and $10 for non-members. You can buy a series pass for the summer and save a few $$! There are 18 races\, so the series pass will give you 4 free races plus you only pay the processing fee ($1.40) once\, instead of every time you register.

DESCRIPTION:The local ILCA fleet along with the JSCA is proud to host the 2024 ILCA (International Laser Class Association) Canadian Masters Championships. \nThis event is available to all ILCA sailors 30 years of age and older. DESCRIPTION:Informal racing series for Jericho style sail powered craft in English Bay. First signal at 1230H. Free of charge to members. Guests pay the JSCA day launch fee of $10/day. \nRegistration and scoring are available at jracing.org. Only registered boats will be scored. Competitors are encouraged to register. For those sailors using club boats and are unsure of their sail number before racing begins\, registration can happen both before and after the event. \nFirst signal on June 23 will be at 1300H due to a running event that will limit access to the facility in the morning. \nNotice of Race \nAmendment #2 to Notice of Race \nSailing Instructions
