DESCRIPTION:The series will run every Thursday from May 1st to August 28th off the beaches at the Jericho Sailing Centre. The races are open to all level of paddlers in outrigger\, SUP\, surfski\, prone\, sea kayak\, canoe\, rowing shell. Courses vary depending on conditions\, each race night has a short and a long course. Check-in starts at 1800H\, race starts at 1900H. \nNo Registration on Site\nPre-register only at Webscorer.com. Each week the link to the race registration will be posted on the WaveChaser Facebook page as of midnight (0001 H) on Friday. \nRacers Must Check-in On-site Before the Race\nCheck-in will be set up outside the JSCA compound on the beach between the ramps #2 and #3. When you arrive\, you need to check-in\, give the race directors your boat/bib number and review the race course. The course map is on a whiteboard hanging on the fence by Gate #3. It is critical for the safety crew to know how many racers are on the water. If you pre-register but don’t check-in\, you will not be counted. \nRace Fees\nRace entry is $5 for Jericho Sailing Centre members and $10 for non-members. You can buy a series pass for the summer and save a few $$! There are 18 races\, so the series pass will give you 4 free races plus you only pay the processing fee ($1.40) once\, instead of every time you register. \nPFD’s and leashes are mandatory\nPaddlers racing without these vital pieces of safety gear will get an automatic DSQ. No exceptions.

One June 17 to celebrate Pride Month (in memory of the Stonewall Uprisings) and one in late July for Vancouver Pride Week! \nJoin us and other LGBTQ2SAI+ identifying folks for a relaxed 2h paddle from Jericho Beach. There is no previous kayaking experience required. Our guides will make sure everybody is comfortable in their kayaks and on the water. DESCRIPTION:JSCA in collaboration with the Canadian Fireball Association is proud to host the 2025 Fireball Canadian Championships!  \nThis is a three day regatta with racing starting Saturday June 28th and ending Monday June 30th. There will be a regatta meal Saturday and Pizza on the beach Sunday after racing. \nThe first 15 boats to register will receive a small hand-made memento wooden boat. Registration fees are $155 before June 15 and $175 if paid between June 15 and the event.  \nNote that participants must join the Canadian fireball association to compete (only $35 for participant\, $50 for participant and boat). Only registered competitors will be scored therefore competitors are encouraged to register. Registration and scoring are available at jracing.org.  \nFor those sailors using club boats and are unsure of their sail number before racing begins\, registration can happen both before and after the event. \nNew this year – starting practice We will be running starting practices on four Sundays this season. On May 11\, 25\, July 13 and August 3. Albatross will be in position at noon and will run practice start sequences using a unique “practice” class flag continuously from noon.  \nFirst signal on May 4 and June 22 will be at 1300H due to marathon style running events that will limit access to the facility in the morning. \nNotice of Race click hereSailing Instructions click hereRegistration at jracing.org

SUMMARY:Rookie Racing Seminar – demystifying sail boat racing
DESCRIPTION:Always wanted race but are confused by all the flags\, horns\, marks and the rules? This seminar will go over all of this for you and give you enough information to get out on the start line at one of our regular series. Generally held Saturday evenings so that you can get out on the race course during Sunday Racing the following day. \nThis seminar is free for JSCA members but registration is still required. Please call or email the JSCA office to register.
