SUMMARY:2025 Canadian Fireball Championships
DESCRIPTION:JSCA in collaboration with the Canadian Fireball Association is proud to host the 2025 Fireball Canadian Championships!  \nThis is a three day regatta with racing starting Saturday June 28th and ending Monday June 30th. There will be a regatta meal Saturday and Pizza on the beach Sunday after racing. \nThe first 15 boats to register will receive a small hand-made memento wooden boat. Registration fees are $155 before June 15 and $175 if paid between June 15 and the event.  \nNote that participants must join the Canadian fireball association to compete (only $35 for participant\, $50 for participant and boat). You can join the association following the link here: https://www.fireball-international.ca/membership/ \nFor accommodations\, check out the options below. We recommend booking early as this is a busy weekend in Vancouver and places book up fast. DESCRIPTION:The series will run every Thursday from May 1st to August 28th off the beaches at the Jericho Sailing Centre. The races are open to all level of paddlers in outrigger\, SUP\, surfski\, prone\, sea kayak\, canoe\, rowing shell. Courses vary depending on conditions\, each race night has a short and a long course. Check-in starts at 1800H\, race starts at 1900H. \nNo Registration on Site\nPre-register only at Webscorer.com. Each week the link to the race registration will be posted on the WaveChaser Facebook page as of midnight (0001 H) on Friday. \nRacers Must Check-in On-site Before the Race\nCheck-in will be set up outside the JSCA compound on the beach between the ramps #2 and #3. When you arrive\, you need to check-in\, give the race directors your boat/bib number and review the race course. The course map is on a whiteboard hanging on the fence by Gate #3. It is critical for the safety crew to know how many racers are on the water. If you pre-register but don’t check-in\, you will not be counted. \nRace Fees\nRace entry is $5 for Jericho Sailing Centre members and $10 for non-members. You can buy a series pass for the summer and save a few $$! There are 18 races\, so the series pass will give you 4 free races plus you only pay the processing fee ($1.40) once\, instead of every time you register. \nPFD’s and leashes are mandatory\nPaddlers racing without these vital pieces of safety gear will get an automatic DSQ. No exceptions.

DESCRIPTION:The English Bay Safety Seminar was developed for users of the Jericho Sailing Centre to help keep them safe at play while on the waters of English Bay. The seminar covers basic water safety fundamentals along with user specific information drawn from the logs of the Jericho Rescue Team who have intervened in thousands of “sea disasters” over the past 45+ years. \nWhy make your own mistakes when you can learn from the mistakes of others? Don’t challenge Darwin’s theory\, make sure your water safety knowledge is the fittest it can be. Your survival may well depend upon it. Courses vary depending on conditions\, each race night has a short and a long course. Check-in starts at 1800H\, race starts at 1900H. \nNo Registration on Site\nPre-register only at Webscorer.com. Each week the link to the race registration will be posted on the WaveChaser Facebook page as of midnight (0001 H) on Friday. \nRacers Must Check-in On-site Before the Race\nCheck-in will be set up outside the JSCA compound on the beach between the ramps #2 and #3. When you arrive\, you need to check-in\, give the race directors your boat/bib number and review the race course. The course map is on a whiteboard hanging on the fence by Gate #3. It is critical for the safety crew to know how many racers are on the water. If you pre-register but don’t check-in\, you will not be counted. \nRace Fees\nRace entry is $5 for Jericho Sailing Centre members and $10 for non-members. You can buy a series pass for the summer and save a few $$! There are 18 races\, so the series pass will give you 4 free races plus you only pay the processing fee ($1.40) once\, instead of every time you register. \nPFD’s and leashes are mandatory\nPaddlers racing without these vital pieces of safety gear will get an automatic DSQ. SUMMARY:English Bay Safety Seminar
DESCRIPTION:The English Bay Safety Seminar was developed for users of the Jericho Sailing Centre to help keep them safe at play while on the waters of English Bay. The seminar covers basic water safety fundamentals along with user specific information drawn from the logs of the Jericho Rescue Team who have intervened in thousands of “sea disasters” over the past 45+ years. \nWhy make your own mistakes when you can learn from the mistakes of others? Don’t challenge Darwin’s theory\, make sure your water safety knowledge is the fittest it can be. Your survival may well depend upon it.
